FFL Firearm Transfer Services

Welcome to Iron City Guns and Ammo. We are a licensed, home-based Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer located in Eagle Mountain, Utah. We are happy to help you with your out-of-state and online firearm transfers.

To ensure a smooth, legal, and fast transfer, please read our entire process and all policies before having a firearm shipped to us.

Our FFL Transfer Fees

    • Pistols / Handguns / Receivers: $25.00
(Waived on new purchases though ICGA)
    • Long Guns (Rifles / Shotguns): $35.00
(Waived on new purchases though ICGA)
    • BCI Background Check Fee: $15.00
(This state-required fee is waived if you have a valid Utah Concealed Firearm Permit)

NFA / Class 3 Items: We DO NOT accept NFA transfers at this time (e.g., suppressors, SBRs, etc.). Your FFL service fee and the state BCI fee (if applicable) are both due at the time of pickup.

      How Our Transfer Process Works

Follow these four steps for an easy transfer.

      STEP 1: Purchase Your Firearm

You purchase your firearm from an online retailer or out-of-state dealer and pay them directly.

STEP 2: Give the Seller Our Information

During checkout, the seller will need to ship the firearm to a licensed FFL.

      • Tell the seller to send their FFL request to us at Support@ironcitygunsandammo.com.
      • We will send our official FFL license directly to the seller. You do not need to do anything else for this step. We will handle all communication with the shipping FFL.

STEP 3: WAIT FOR OUR CALL

This is the most important step for a smooth pickup. Your tracking information may show “Delivered” to our location. DO NOT come to pick up the firearm at that time.

By federal law, we must receive, inspect, and log every firearm into our official records. We will process it as quickly as possible, but we must do this before the transfer can proceed.

We will call you directly as soon as your firearm is logged and ready for pickup.

      STEP 4: Schedule Your Pickup

We are a home-based FFL and operate by appointment only.

When we call to let you know your firearm is ready, we will schedule a pickup time that is convenient for you.

What You MUST Bring to Your Appointment

You cannot take possession of your firearm without the following items. Federal Law does not allow exceptions.

When you arrive, you will be required to fill out the ATF Form 4473 (Firearms Transaction Record). To complete this, you must have:

      1. A Valid, Government-Issued Photo ID This ID must contain your name, date of birth, and current residential address.

      • A valid Utah Driver’s License with your current address is perfect.
      • If your ID address is NOT current:  You must bring a supplemental government-issued document that has your name and current address.
        • Examples: A valid vehicle registration, a voter registration card, a property tax bill, or a Utah hunting/fishing license.
        • (A utility bill, phone bill, or bank statement is not sufficient as it is not government-issued).

      2. A Valid Utah Concealed Firearm Permit (CFP)

      • If you have a valid Utah CFP, please bring it. A valid permit that we can verify with BCI serves as your background check and makes the process much faster.
      • You must still fill out the entire Form 4473, even with a CFP.

      3. Your Payment

      • We accept [Cash or Card] (Venmo / PayPal does not allow firearms sales) for the FFL service fee and the state BCI fee.

      Our FFL Transfer Policies

Please read these policies. They protect you and our business.

      • Background Checks: We run a background check for all items and all customers, in accordance with state and federal law.
      • Inspection: We encourage you to inspect your firearm for any damage or defects before you fill out the Form 4473. Once you complete the paperwork and accept the transfer, the firearm is legally yours. Any issues with the firearm (warranty, damage, etc.) must be handled between you and the original seller.
      • Denied Transfers: If your background check is Denied, you are still responsible for paying the full FFL service fee and the state BCI fee for our time and the check. You must then make arrangements (at your own expense) to have the firearm returned to the seller.
      • Storage & Abandonment: We ask that you pick up your firearm within 15 days of us calling you. We are not a storage facility. Firearms left for over 30 days without communication will be considered abandoned and may be sold to recover fees, in accordance with Utah law.
      • NFA Items: Any NFA/Class 3 item shipped to us will be refused and returned to the sender at your expense.
